Bottesford have swooped to make a team change on the eve of their KOC Semi Final tie with the high flying Workington Logheads
In comes Johannes Estil to replace the outgoing Adam Bridgett.
We wish Adam all the very best and he is a victim of numbers as we are trying to change a few things at the lower end of the team to consolidate our 3rd place and try and win the KOC too. It's a gamble but one we think may be worth it to spark a run towards the title, hopefully.
With 3 riders currently in the top 10 of the league averages it's a tough call but Adam has struggled of late and his average was dropping and he has lost over a point this season, its a huge shame but I felt it important to try to do something to spark the lower order. Henrijs Birkerts is a little up and down of late, but holding his own, Zoltan has started to show signs of scoring and Steve Conway has also started to fire a bit. If we can just get one or two of those flying then it could make a huge difference to us.
Johannes is a 20 year old Norwegian who comes in on 4.80 but has bags of promise, if he rides as I know he can he could be the missing link for us. We'll see what the averages bring us over the next few weeks and take things from there. I have been trying to do a deal to keep Jack Hagen here permanently but the ball is in Teesside's court now.
We wish Adam all the best and hope he gets a ride soon and picks his form up - he's a great lad and it's with a heavy heart he leaves us.
